Basic Business Protection

Data is susceptible to loss in many ways:

System Outages

Power Loss

Theft

Malware

Malicious Employees

Accidental Deletion

At the minimum, every business should have onsite backup, and offsite duplication is often advised for businesses that can't afford to be without any of their core systems for any length of time.

Business Continuity (BC) is just common sense. A good BC plan answers basic questions about your business such as:

  • What systems do we use? Which ones are critical to our day to day operation?
  • How much will each unit of downtime of any system cost in lost productivity or worse, lost sales?
  • How long can we afford to be without one of our critical systems?
  • How often are our systems backed up? Are the backups kept onsite or do we have offsite backups in case of a catastrophic event that renders our facilities inaccessible?
  • How old is our onsite backup? How old is our offsite backup?
  • How long will it take to bring each system back online after a serious issue? After a catastrophic event?
